The world of high fashion is entering a new chapter as Armani faces its succession following the passing of its iconic founder.

At the helm of this transition are three figures who embody competence, loyalty, and deep-rooted connection to the brand: Silvana Armani, Roberta Armani, and Leo Dell’Orco.

Their elevated roles signal continuity of the label’s timeless elegance under trusted guardianship, preserving the house’s cultural and creative heritage.

Profiles of the New Pillars of Armani

  • Leo Dell’Orco: For nearly five decades, Dell’Orco had been Giorgio Armani’s closest confidant and creative stalwart. As Head of the Men’s Style Office, he orchestrated designs across all Armani lines, from Giorgio Armani to Emporio Armani and Armani Exchange. His bond with the late designer transcended professional bounds—a personal connection that grounded the brand’s ethos. Armani intended Dell’Orco to be a central figure in a smooth and organic leadership transition.

  • Silvana Armani: A niece of Giorgio Armani, Silvana has long been his stylistic heir in the women’s collections. With over 40 years of collaboration, she has shaped the brand’s feminine elegance and now sits on the company’s board, poised to continue her uncle’s legacy.

  • Roberta Armani: Silvana’s sister, Roberta, oversees VIP relations and celebrity engagement for the brand. With a career spanning publicity and high-society connections, she brings invaluable cultural capital to the company’s future governance. She, too, holds a seat on the board and is now stepping into a top leadership role.

Together, Dell’Orco, Silvana, and Roberta form a governance triumvirate trusted to guide Armani into its next era. This leadership model aligns with Giorgio Armani’s vision of an “organic transition,” maintaining the brand’s soul and independence.

Preserving the Armani Ethos and Independence

Central to the succession plan is the Giorgio Armani Foundation, established in 2016 to guarantee the brand’s autonomy and safeguard its identity.

Though it currently holds a small share, the foundation is expected to gain greater control following the execution of Armani’s will. Its leadership, reportedly entrusted to Dell’Orco, Silvana, and another trusted associate, will govern the company’s strategic direction and protect its creative integrity.

Armani’s independent spirit defined his approach—opting not to sell or go public, he rejected external influence and safeguarded total creative control. This trio is now tasked with upholding that legacy and ensuring the House of Armani remains true to its founder’s vision.
